CAAT’s DBplus Plan design is evolving to meet the workplace needs of more Canadians, further supporting CAAT Pension Plan’s growth and strengthening benefit security for our members.

Starting in 2022, a new feature, DBplus with Contribution Choice, will allow new employers that join DBplus to set a range of contribution rates for their members to choose from (subject to applicable limitations) — a feature new to Defined Benefit plans like ours, but common to Defined Contribution arrangements.

This notice is to inform you in advance that a public announcement of this new feature will be made in the coming days. A notice to members will also be posted on our website. No action is required by you; there will be no impact to pension administration, and no changes to the contributions and pension accrual of existing members.

Offering DBplus with Contribution Choice supports CAAT’s strategic objectives to grow and diversify Plan membership, which will have a positive impact on benefit security and plan sustainability for all members. As we continue to grow and evolve, we are committed to continued innovation for the benefit of all members and employers.
