New promotion focuses on expanding pension coverage across Canada

CAAT Pension Plan is pleased to announce the promotion of Karen Burnett to Vice President, Pension Solutions. Karen’s appointment reinforces CAAT’s commitment to expanding access to sustainable workplace retirement solutions and helping organizations across Canada navigate today’s workforce and financial challenges.

In her new role, Karen will collaborate with organizations across Canada to provide flexible retirement solutions that address rising costs, economic uncertainty, and evolving workforce expectations. Her expertise in pension plan design, implementation, and governance will be instrumental in helping organizations reduce risk, optimize total rewards strategies, and strengthen workplace financial wellbeing initiatives.

Karen has nearly 30 years of experience in the pension industry. With experience in both defined benefit and defined contribution retirement arrangements, Karen brings a unique perspective in her approach to strategic plan design and optimizing the retirement benefits to meet business objectives. She graduated with distinction from the University of Waterloo with a Bachelor of Mathematics in Actuarial Science. She is a Fellow of the Canadian Institute of Actuaries and a Fellow of the Society of Actuaries. Karen also serves on the Society of Actuaries Board of Directors and is a member of the Association of Canadian Pension Management (ACPM) Ontario Council.
