Your CAAT Plan pension includes many valuable benefits, and our fall webinar series gives you the opportunity to learn more about the pension you are earning. Whether you’re getting ready to retire, thinking about joining, or thinking about making a pension purchase, you can register for the webinar that works for your schedule.

Planning for retirement

This session answers the most common questions we hear from members as they prepare for retirement.

• How much money do I need for retirement?
• How much pension will I get?
• Is my pension secure?
• What do I need to do to start my retirement?

These are just some of the questions covered during the session. You’ll learn about the Plan’s flexible retirement date options, valuable survivor benefits, and inflation protection. The session uses real-world examples and retirement planning tips to help ensure a smooth transition to retirement. It will give you the tools to feel prepared for retirement and build confidence about your retirement security.

Who should attend: The session is for all members, whether contributing under DBprime or DBplus.

All about DBplus – a webinar for Ontario college employees who work part-time or on contract

DBplus provides a valuable defined benefit (DB) pension with a fixed contribution rate for members. If you work in the Ontario college system, and you’re part-time or on contract, you have the option to join DBplus at any time during your employment.

During the webinar, you’ll learn more about DBplus, including:

• What changed under DBplus and what remained the same
• How your pension under DBplus will compare to the original design
• What happens if you become full-time

Who should attend: The session is for any part-time or contract employee at an Ontario college. Whether you are already a member of the CAAT Plan, or thinking of joining, get an overview of the valuable pension members of DBplus earn.

Pension purchases webinar

Did you know that you can increase your pension with a purchase?

If you have eligible periods to purchase, such as periods of employment before enrolling, breaks in employment, or if you earned a benefit from a previous employer’s pension plan, you may have an opportunity to make your CAAT Plan pension even more valuable by making a pension purchase.

The webinar will cover:

• What a pension purchase is
• The amount of pension you can expect to get from a purchase
• How to determine if a pension purchase is right for you
• How to make a pension purchase

Who should attend: The session is for you if you are a member of the CAAT Pension Plan earning a pension in DBprime or DBplus, and you want to know  if a purchase may be right for you.
