Saskatchewan College of Pharmacy Professionals joins flexible and affordable DBplus

Toronto, October 5, 2022 – The Saskatchewan College of Pharmacy Professionals (SCPP), the self-governing body for the profession of pharmacy in the province, has joined the CAAT Pension Plan under DBplus on behalf of their employees.

SCPP is supporting their employees’ financial wellness today and into retirement with the innovative DBplus, a defined benefit pension plan design provided at fixed contribution rates. The organization is able to enhance workplace culture and employee well-being without taking on the additional cost and potential risk of managing their own pension plan – making DBplus a winning solution for everyone.

“SCPP is excited to be joining the CAAT Pension Plan. I did a lot of research with respect to plan options for our staff and felt that CAAT had the best offering as it was flexible, affordable, and offered a great opportunity to support them with their retirement plans,” said Jeana Wendel, Registrar at the Saskatchewan College of Pharmacy Professionals. “It is satisfying to ensure those who work so hard every day to contribute to the success of the College can be taken care of in their retirement.”

DBplus optimizes member and employer contributions to deliver secure lifetime retirement income with valuable features like survivor benefits, conditional inflation protection, and early retirement options.

“CAAT is pleased that SCPP is taking an employee-first approach by joining DBplus and helping employees achieve their retirement goals,” said Derek Dobson, CEO and Plan Manager, CAAT Pension Plan. “Both SCPP and their staff can rest easy knowing that they are members of one of Canada’s highest-performing and most sustainable pension plans. When they are ready to retire, they won’t have to worry about outliving their savings and can enjoy their pension stress-free for life.”

The Saskatchewan College of Pharmacy Professionals joins other notable CAAT participating employers like Brink’s Canada, Sanofi Pasteur, The Conference Board of Canada, Torstar, University of Saskatchewan, Vancouver Foundation, the Ontario Dental Association, and Jamieson.

At the start of 2022, the CAAT Plan has $18.2 billion in assets, a one-year rate of return net of investment management fees of 15.8%, and an annualized 10-year net rate of return of 11.1%.
