Updates & reminders
Inflation protection payments and notifications
Inflation protection increases were applied to January 1st pension payments. CAAT has mailed notification letters about these increases to retired members or their survivors via Canada Post.
For employers whose members have access to My Pension:
Retired members and survivors can now access the member portal, My Pension. CAAT has sent these members a notification complete with instructions on how to access the portal. Retired members will now be able to receive their annual statements online, see information about their pension payments and make changes to their contact information. Please encourage these members to register and use the features of the portal.
Complete your 2021 employer attestation
Employer attestations for 2021 have been sent to college presidents and employer CEOs. Please ensure you send us the completed attestations by March 31, 2022.

Submit your 2021 annual data
Read this if: You are an employer working directly with CAAT administration partners
Employers who are working directly with CAAT administration partners should submit their 2021 annual data file to their administration partners, following the timeline established with those partners. Schedules and training materials were shared in November 2021.
If you have any questions about completing the 2021 annual data file, please contact your Pension Analyst directly.
Read this if:You are an employer working directly with CAAT
Employers who participate in DBplus only are required to submit their 2021 annual data through payroll-based reporting (PBR) by February 15, 2022. Training for these files took place on December 15, 2021 and a recording of the training session is available on our website if you missed the live session:
Employers who participate in both DBprime and DBplus should submit their annual data for 2021 using CAAT’s Data Collection Tool (DCT), which will be available on January 21, 2022.
- Data submission due date: March 7, 2022

Fostering financial literacy where it matters most
Long-term financial stability is top of mind for Canadians, yet not enough of us have a formal plan to save towards our long-term goals. CAAT’s very own CEO Derek Dobson wrote an article for the Benefits and Pensions Monitor addressing this trend. He writes about the impact financial literacy has in the workplace and gives tips to help employees save for their future.
