Community Living York South sees bright future with DBplus

Toronto, February 14, 2022 – Community Living York South (‘CLYS’), a non-profit organization serving the Southern York Region, has joined the CAAT Pension Plan under the DBplus plan design.

Robust retirement benefits are more important than ever as a talent retention and attraction tool. Through DBplus, CAAT offers CLYS employees a secure, predictable lifetime pension with in-demand features like conditional inflation protection, early retirement options, and survivor benefits – all at no additional cost.

“Community Living York South is delighted to be joining the CAAT Pension Plan. After much research and consultation, we felt it was the right move for our organization at this time,” said Steven Klein, Acting Executive Director, Community Living York South. “With inflation protection, and a secure retirement income for life which is supported by a well-funded highly ranked plan administrator, we are confident that the CAAT Pension Plan will offer our employees a bright future upon their retirement.”

Community Living York South supports people with intellectual disabilities in the Southern York region, empowering them to lead full lives in their community.

“CAAT is thrilled that Community Living York South recognized DBplus as a valuable asset that can help attract and retain its staff,” said Derek Dobson, CEO and Plan Manager, CAAT Pension Plan. “CLYS employees work hard to provide important services to their community, and we will work just as hard to give them a valuable and secure pension when they retire.”

Community Living York South joins other notable CAAT participating employers like Brink’s Canada, Sanofi Pasteur, The Conference Board of Canada, Torstar, University of Saskatchewan, Vancouver Foundation, and the Ontario Dental Association.

As of January 1, 2021, the CAAT Plan had $15.8 billion in assets, a one-year rate of return net of investment management fees of 11.1%, and an annualized 10-year net rate of return of 9.9%.
